Thank you for your interest in Westman Lions Manor, a not-for-profit Life Lease housing complex for seniors 55 years of age or better.
The Manor is located at the corner of Victoria Avenue and First Street in Brandon. Very close by are the Brandon Regional Health Centre, a medical clinic, drug stores with pharmacy services, banking, insurance and eating establishments.
Westman Lions Manor was made possible by the efforts of five Lions Clubs in Brandon. Their vision was to create an enriched environment for seniors - a place where they would have shelter, the ability to remain active, maintain social connections, and enjoy comfort, convenience and safety in a healthy environment. The complex was planned to provide affordable housing to seniors age 55 and over who are capable of living independently.
The original building (Phase I) was built in 1989 with 65 one-bedroom apartments and 63 two-bedroom apartments. Thirty-two suites are subsidized by the Province of Manitoba under Manitoba Housing's Rent Supplement Program; for eligible residents occupying these suites, rents are based on income. The remaining suites are financed via the Life Lease method and are operated on a not-for-profit basis.
A new addition (Phase II) was built in 1999 and offers six apartment layout options and the convenience of indoor parking.
